Soprano, Laura Bewig Chritton



Soprano Laura Bewig Chritton has performed operatic and oratorio roles around the United States and in Europe. She has sung lead roles with the Tanglewood Music Center, Boston Academy of Music, Opera in the Ozarks, Opera North, Valley Light Opera, Quisisana Summer Theater, Lowell House Opera, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Concord Symphony, and Claflin Hill Symphony. Her roles with these companies have included Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera; Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni; Musetta in La Bohème; the Mother in Hansel & Gretel; Jenny in Mahagonny; Frasquita in Carmen; Casilda in The Gondoliers; La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi; Isabelle in The Face on the Barroom Floor; Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium; and Second Lady in the Magic Flute. Laura's extensive experience in oratorio includes appearances with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, New England Classical Singers, Arlington Chorus, and Phillips Academy Chorus, with whom she toured Italy and the southern United States. Laura is equally at home on the concert stage, having performed numerous recitals of lieder, song, and cabaret in the Boston area. Laura also teaches voice privately and is a registered Music Together teacher at the New School of Music in Cambridge, offering music classes for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
