Mezzo-soprano Susan Forrester

Lyric mezzo-soprano Susan Forrester has received much public and critical acclaim for her performances on both the operatic and concert stages with many of New England's finest ensembles. Most recently, Ms. Forrester made her debut with Newton Symphony in its concert performance of Puccini's Madama Butterfly as Suzuki under the direction of Jeffrey Rink. The mezzo joined the Chatham Chorale in March for a performance of Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass in March. She returned to St. Louis this season as the alto soloist in the Bach Society of St. Louis's performance of Bach's St. John Passion. In April, she appeared with the Rhode Island Civic Chorale in its premiere performance of Richard Cumming's My Beloved Is Mine. This summer, Ms. Forrester sang the title role in Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia at the Intermezzo Opera Festival in West Hartford, Connecticut. The 2003-2004 season finds the mezzo making her debut in roles with Opera Boston in its performances of Bernstein's Candide (November 2003) and John Adams's Nixon in China (March 2004). She is slated to join the Rhode Island Civic Chorale in Schubert's Mass in A flat in May 2004.
