Soprano, Maryann Mootos ![]() A native of Boston, Massachusetts, soprano Maryann Mootos has appeared as a soloist in concerts at Philadelphia's Academy of Music and with the Reading Symphony Orchestra, under the batons of renown conductors Luis Biava, Alan Harler, and Sidney Rothstein. She has appeared as Micaela in Amato Opera's production of Carmen, as well as Nedda in Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci with Opera Mobile, in New York City. Ms. Mootos attended both Temple University where she received her master's degree in opera performance and the Eastman School of Music where she received a bachelor's degree in voice. Other roles she has sung include Rosalinda in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Hero in Berlioz' Beatrice and Benedict, Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Abigail Williams in Ward's The Crucible, Angélique in Ibert's Angélique and Mrs. Coyle in Britten's Owen Wingrave. Ms. Mootos is happy to return to Boston and looks forward to her first season with The Bostonians. Back to The Artists Page |
