Soprano, Margaret O'Keefe



Lyric Soprano Margaret O'Keefe, whose voice has been proclaimed "exquisite" by the New York Times, performs in a wide variety of genres, including opera, oratorio, orchestral songs, chamber and Lieder recitals, and ballet. She has collaborated closely with numerous contemporary composers in premieres and recordings of their works. Ms. O'Keefe has sung operatic roles with Opera Antica of New York, Lake George Opera Festival, the June Opera Festival, Boston Aria Guild, and Longwood Opera Company of Boston and has appeared as soloist with the Handel & Haydn Society of Boston (Christopher Hogwood, conducting), the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra (Benjamin Zander, conducting), the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra (Richard Auldon Clark, conducting), Boston Baroque (Martin Pearlman, conducting), Symphony-by-the-Sea (Jonathan McPhee, conducting), Boston Chamber Music Society, the North/South Consonance Ensemble of New York and the Philharmonica di Tokyo, Japan (Thomas Sanderling, conducting). Her numerous performances of Handel's Messiah include her debut at Lincoln Center with the National Chorale at Avery Fisher Hall, as well as in Tokyo with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and Osaka with the Telemann Chamber Orchestra. She has recorded on the Titanic and Telarc labels. Ms. O'Keefe is currently represented by Neil Funkhouser Artists Management in New York City.
