Soprano, Bonnie Doe Scarpelli ![]() Acclaimed by The Boston Globe as a singer of "exceptional beauty of tone and security of technique," soprano Bonnie Doe Scarpelli has sung with Boston Academy of Music productions as Jane Seymour in Donizetti's Anna Bolena, and as Elvira in L'Italiana in Algeri. She had previously sung Strauss' Four Last Songs in Boston as featured soloist with the Boston Philharmonic (Ben Zander, conductor) and New England Philharmonic (Jeffrey Rink, conductor). In Maine, Bonnie has been featured with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, most recently in Górecki's Symphony No. 3. She also sang the soprano role in Britten's War Requiem with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. In the first season of Portland Opera Repertory Theater, Bonnie appeared as Micaela in Carmen, (Bruce Hangen, conductor). For Maine Music Society, she has performed the role of Fiordiligi and the soprano solo in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis. Abroad, she has performed in opera festivals in St. Petersburg, Russia and Chevreuse, France. In addition to her active performing career, Bonnie teaches voice, both in her private studio in Portland, Maine, and at Bowdoin College. Back to The Artists Page |
